BIO LAB REPORT 2 FINAL (2)

Above is an attachment to my Bio Lab Report, written about the cellular respiration rate in crickets. I spent a lot of time working on this report, and feel as if my writing as improved immensely from my first draft.  Some of my strengths that I believe are demonstrated throughout my paper are my concise word choice. I make sure to be detailed, but not wordy. I only include the necessary information in order for the reader to understand the experiment, in the least amount of words possible. In my first report, I used a lot of transitional words and unnecessary sentences to help my paper flow better. However through the feedback I received, I was told to take out any transitions and get straight to my point. Another strength illustrated through my paper is the use of proper labeling. I made sure to include units in all of my statistical results and graph. I believe my writing is clear and that the proper units are helpful to the reader. The last strength that I noticed in my paper is the proper use of CSE format. I made sure that all of my sources were in the correct format and cited correctly throughout my paper. It took a long time to make sure that I was using the right format for each citation, however, I am glad that it is all done. Although I believe my paper is very well-written, there still may be a few weaknesses throughout it. In my discussion section, I was not able to figure out how exactly my studies applied to the real world. We were asked to describe why our studies were relevant, however I could not think of a real world application. At the end of my paper I stated that more studies needed to be tested in order to get a better understanding of the respiration rate in crickets. The data that my group collected was not extremely accurate, therefore making it unreliable. Our data contained a significant amount of outliers and more testing should be done in order to get a better understanding of any real world applications. Overall, my paper is well written, but the experiment itself could have gone better in order to be applied to the real world.
